3. Getting Started

3.1 Accounts

WhoPays does not require a traditional account or password. You join groups anonymously with a device-issued identifier, so keep your device secure.

3.2 Groups

To use the App you must create or join a group with a join code. You are responsible for ensuring that everyone in the group has permission to view the shared expense data.

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Appropriate Use

Use the App in accordance with these Terms and applicable law. Do not exploit bugs, attempt to gain unauthorized access to other groups, or reverse-engineer the App.

4.2 Accurate data

You are responsible for entering accurate expenses and participant information. Group members should verify entries before relying on the balances.

4.3 Device requirements

Keeping WhoPays up to date ensures you receive the latest security and feature fixes. Some features require an internet connection to work as expected.

5. Payments and Subscription

Pricing and subscription details will be announced before any paid features roll out. If we introduce paid features, terms will be provided in-app prior to purchase. All payments will be processed through the applicable app store, and the store's terms and refund policies apply.

6. Termination of Use

You may stop using WhoPays at any time by deleting the App. Group owners can delete groups, which permanently removes associated records from our servers. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the service.

7. Liability

7.1 General Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

7.2 Accuracy of balances

WhoPays relies on data entered by users and third-party exchange rates. We cannot guarantee that balances or conversions are error-free. Always double-check important totals.

7.3 Third-party services

Exchange rates and sync are provided by external services. Availability of these services may impact the App.
